LucidLink Admin Assistant

Desktop app

A desktop app for LucidLink administrators. Manage users, groups, and permissions from a simple interface, and run Python scripts to automate your own workflows.

v1.3.0

2026-10-16Latest
  • Support: new Support button in the header. Export support bundle saves a zip of the app's logs to your Downloads folder, Open log folder opens where they are kept, and Debug logging adds extra detail while you reproduce a problem
  • Support: the app now keeps a plain-text log of what every tool does, one file per day, kept for 7 days. Each error has a code such as AA-USR-008 that matches the tool's troubleshooting page in the Support Confluence space. API tokens, passwords and keys are scrubbed before anything is written
  • Scripts: each run's full output is saved to its own log file, and a failed run quotes the script's last error lines in the main log. Script input values are never logged
  • Users and groups tools, Copy Permissions and Delete Groups: every change made to the workspace is recorded in the log, one line each
  • Generate Direct Links: each run is logged with counts and the items that failed. Link URLs are not logged
  • Unicode Duplicate Tool: every delete and rename applied is recorded in the log
  • Audit Log Viewer, File Search, Network Doctor and LucidLink Triage: the same logging as their standalone apps
  • Network Doctor: proxy user names and passwords set in proxy environment variables are masked on screen, in Copy report and in the log
  • LucidLink Triage: bundles whose zip contains unsafe entry names are now refused outright
  • Security updates to the TLS and zip libraries

v1.2.0

2026-10-05
  • Audit Log Viewer: search by file ID. The new File ID filter takes one or more IDs, separated by commas, and the results table now shows each event's file ID. Click an ID in the table to filter on it
  • Audit Log Viewer: a file ID stays the same when a file is renamed or moved, so this traces a file's full history where a path search only finds its current name

v1.1.0

2026-09-22
  • Audit Log Viewer: filter by several users, hosts, or node IDs at once. These fields are now pick lists built from the values in the loaded logs, with an "Add all N matches" option to select a whole group in one step
  • Audit Log Viewer: the Path filter accepts several comma-separated terms and shows events matching any of them. Put a term in double quotes to search for a path that contains a comma
  • Audit Log Viewer: much faster filtering on large audit logs. Searches across several million events went from seconds to under one
  • Audit Log Viewer: fixed the results table jumping back to the top while you scroll during a filter change, and an issue where a slow search could replace newer results with older ones
  • Audit Log Viewer: a failed search now tells you so instead of quietly leaving the previous results on screen, and the table shows a loading indicator while a filter runs

v1.0.19

2026-08-18
  • Network Doctor no longer raises a false session alert on healthy filespaces. Brief "no active session" messages from routine background renewal were being counted as an outage
  • The session check is now based on how long a problem lasts rather than how often it appears
  • Renamed the "SSO session" finding to "Filespace session", since most filespaces don't use SSO and the old recovery steps didn't apply to them

v1.0.18

2026-08-14
  • Network Doctor no longer raises a false "SSO session is down" alert after a filespace reconnects. On LucidLink Classic that covered every sleep and wake, Wi-Fi or VPN drop, and app restart, all of which sign back in normally
  • A session that dropped and came back with nothing left to upload is now reported as healthy instead of as work at risk
  • Real session loss is still reported exactly as before

v1.0.17

2026-08-04
  • Network Doctor now detects when a filespace session drops while storage still reports connected, the state where new work can't be saved
  • LucidLink Triage known-issue library expanded from 58 to 68 rules

v1.0.16

2026-07-15
  • Network Doctor: always-on background monitor, system tray icon, and a rolling 7-day log you can send to LucidLink Support
  • Fixed a burst of Windows console windows appearing during background checks
  • Network Doctor: more accurate latency ratings, a per-filespace check, and a new tray icon

v1.0.15

2026-07-13
  • Added Network Doctor: internet speed test, reachability and latency checks, plus firewall, TLS-inspection, proxy, and VPN checks
  • LucidLink Triage findings now link back to the log line that produced them
  • Security improvements to how plugins handle links

v1.0.14

2026-07-01
  • Faster Unicode Duplicates scan, and you can now cancel a scan while it runs

v1.0.13

2026-07-01
  • Unicode Duplicates now asks you to type a 6-character confirmation code before any delete or rename
  • LucidLink Triage now also checks logs against a catalog of known issues built for each LucidLink release

v1.0.12

2026-06-24
  • LucidLink Triage: live capture fix, a filespace selector, and new System and SysInfo views
  • API Explorer request examples now match the current API specification
  • Security improvements

v1.0.11

2026-06-12
  • API Explorer request examples updated to match the current API specification
  • Security update to a third-party component

v1.0.10

2026-05-15
  • File Search now finds filenames containing curly quotes, en and em dashes, non-breaking spaces, and accented characters stored in decomposed (NFD) form

v1.0.9

2026-05-12
  • Security improvements across the apps
  • Known-issue rule updates are verified before they're used
  • Unicode Duplicates refuses to delete or rename a file that has been replaced by a symbolic link
  • Safer archive handling when LucidLink Triage opens a bundle
  • API requests are limited to your own computer (localhost) unless you explicitly allow other addresses
  • Tokens and other secrets are passed to plugins more securely
  • Plugins are verified before they load
  • Fixed the LucidLink Triage live Configs view

v1.0.8

2026-05-06
  • LucidLink Triage, which checks diagnostic bundles and live systems for known issues, is now included in the Admin Assistant

v1.0.7

2026-04-29

  • Bearer tokens are saved in your system keychain, so you stay connected between sessions
  • Security improvements across the Admin Assistant and API Manager

v1.0.6

2026-04-28
  • Retired the Connect tool, both the built-in version and the standalone app

v1.0.5

2026-04-28
  • Much faster loading of audit logs for older date ranges
